Whether you just learned about kink on or have had lifelong fantasies, many people have questions like, “Why am kinky?” or “Why am I turned on by things that seem so taboo?” or “Why do I fantasize about being in control or giving up control?” For some people, these are questions of curiosity and exploration. For others, these questions hold deep shame, confusion, or emotional distress that can interfere with full expression of their erotic, sexual and expressive selves. The pull to find answers and healing is powerful, especially when these desires and fantasies are not understood, or pathologized, especially when people reach out for help from therapists. This workshop will explore the ways, within or outside-of-therapy, that kink-involved people kink can build greater self-acceptance, comfort in erotic negotiation and communication, and growth in self-empowerment and boundary settings; especially when kink-have existing mental health concerns, trauma histories and stigma-related internalized feelings. You’ll come away with a better understanding of your turn-ons, your emotional and physical responses, and how you and others find satisfaction and pleasure in intense sensation and the taboo.

18+ ONLY. ID REQUIRED TO ATTEND
